Cyber Defense Group update

DHS forecast transition: keep capture research moving.

DHS’s October 29 Special Notice 27_01_IL describes an APFS migration now underway. New entries in the legacy forecast system stopped October 30 at 4:00 p.m. EDT.

DHS says forecast data will be available on DHS.gov beginning November 5, 2026, in Excel, CSV and PDF formats.

The notice lists November 5–December 9 as a temporary outage for automated email alerts and subscription messaging. Full messaging and the new APFS search features are scheduled for December. A later nightly feed to GSA’s Forecast of Contracting Opportunities tool has no announced completion date.

CDG’s capture takeaway: plan manual forecast-file reviews during the alert gap, retain dated versions and recheck estimated buying dates, vehicles and teaming needs against actual solicitations. Forecasts are planning signals; they do not open a competition or guarantee an award.

The November 5 download availability is DHS’s announced schedule. This transition notice does not establish a bid deadline, eligibility decision or contract value.
