Original CDG company post

NIST’s October 21 announcement highlights a revised Information Security Handbook for executive leadership.

SP 800-100 Rev. 1 is an initial public draft aligned with CSF 2.0. It covers governance, risk management, incident response and continuous monitoring, helping leaders connect cybersecurity responsibilities across the organization.

For government contractors, this is a useful opportunity to review how leadership oversees security programs. It is draft guidance, not a new final compliance requirement.

NIST lists December 4, 2026, as the comment deadline; no cutoff time or timezone is specified.
