Original CDG company post
SBA’s October 22 update reports 18 governors’ petitions approved since January 2025, establishing 252 Governor-Designated Covered Areas under the HUBZone program. Virginia is among the 18 states; 30 states now participate in the initiative.
For small federal suppliers, the useful next step is to check the current HUBZone map and review the full certification criteria. An eligible location alone does not confer certification or guarantee contracts. This announcement expands access to eligibility; it is not an open solicitation or contract award.
